In 2004, Ellis County Concrete was established in Hays as a subsidiary of Concrete Service Co., now known as Mid America Ready Mix. Located north of I-70 at exit 157, we began our journey by setting up a state-of-the-art plant, equipment, and materials to meet the growing demand for ready-mix concrete. Over the years, our Hays plant has played a vital role in countless projects, starting with Hall Street and Home Depot and extending to new residential homes, commercial developments, and industrial sites.

Some of our most notable projects include Buckeye Wind Farms, Hibbett Sports, Fort Hays State University, the City of Hays, Vine Street, I-Hop, Ellis Travel Plaza, and the Goodman Energy Center. These achievements reflect our commitment to quality and community, making Hays and the surrounding area a fantastic place to work and grow.

Our operation features a computerized batch plant capable of producing various mix designs to meet specific strength requirements. With 10 mixer trucks and an experienced team, including manager Todd Jacobs, who brings 20 years of expertise to the table, we ensure your job is done right. To accommodate projects year-round, we offer hot water mixing for colder weather, ensuring timely and efficient completion.

In addition to ready-mix concrete, our Hays plant also sells sand and rock, making us a comprehensive solution for construction needs. Open five days a week and by appointment on most Saturdays, we’re here to support your project every step of the way. As part of the broader Mid America Ready Mix network, we can call on additional trucks and manpower from our Great Bend operations when the job demands extra support.
